How the math works
- Labor
(on-site minutes x home-size factor x service factor + drive minutes) / 60 x hourly wage x (1 + burden %). The home-size factor is 1.0 at 2,000 sq ft and moves 0.25 per 1,000 sq ft, capped between 0.75 and 1.75.
- Truck
Miles to the stop x cost per mile. The default is the IRS 2026 business standard mileage rate (72.5 cents Jan-Jun, 76 cents from July 1, 2026) - a reasonable all-in proxy for fuel, maintenance and depreciation.
- Materials + overhead
Material cost per visit x service factor, plus a per-stop share of insurance, software, office and marketing.
- Price
Cost / (1 - target margin). At 40% margin, a $60 cost becomes a $100 price.

How do I price quarterly pest control?
Start from cost, not competitors: add up tech time (on site + drive) at a burdened wage, truck cost, materials and overhead, then divide by (1 - your target margin). Sanity-check against local quotes - HomeAdvisor’s June 2026 guide puts quarterly visits at $100-$300.
How much should I charge for pest control per month?
For true monthly service, HomeAdvisor reports $40-$70 per visit. If you sell quarterly service billed monthly, divide the annual contract value by 12 - the calculator shows that as “equivalent monthly price”.
Should I price per square foot?
Home size mostly changes time on site, so this calculator scales on-site minutes by size rather than using a flat per-square-foot rate. Large lots and heavy landscaping matter as much as interior square footage for exterior work.
What margin do pest control companies target?
There is no official industry figure; set the margin that covers owner pay and growth after overhead. The calculator separates overhead per stop so the margin you enter is gross profit after direct costs and overhead.
